currently serving as the State Representative for District 3
in the eastern part of San Juan County. New Mexico has a citizen
legislature, which means that legislators do not receive a salary. The New Mexico
Legislature is in session for 60 days in the odd numbered years,
30 days in the even numbered years and special sessions at the call of
the Governor. The rest of the time we
live in our home districts and have normal jobs and careers.
I am a rancher specializing in grass fed
beef; I have been running livestock in San Juan County for 30 years. That's my brand on the left. I live on my ranch northwest of Aztec with my wife Mary Catherine Curry Bandy MD (a dermatologist practicing in Farmington, NM). My four children Matthew, Robin, Lysandra, and Mary Beth have all started families of their own in Albuquerque, NM, Sebastopol, CA, Nederland, CO, and Aztec, NM. I have eight grandsons: Joshua, Harlan, Benjamin, Skylar, Alec, Malcolm, Westley, and Rauri.
