Meet Paul
I am
currently serving as the State Representative for District 3
in the eastern part of San Juan County. New Mexico has a citizen
legislature, which means that legislators do not receive a salary. The New Mexico
Legislature is in session for 60 days in the odd numbered years,
30 days in the even numbered years and special sessions at the call of
the Governor. The rest of the time we
live in our home districts and have normal jobs and careers.
I am a rancher specializing in grass fed
beef; I have been running livestock in San Juan County for 30 years. That's my brand on the left. I live on my ranch northwest of Aztec with my wife Mary
Catherine Curry Bandy MD. (a dermatologist practicing in Farmington NM),
my
daughter Mary Beth (a horse trainer), and my grandson Joshua. My three
older children Matthew, Robin, and Lysandra have all started families
of
their own in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Oakland, California, and Nederland, Colorado. I have six grandsons: Joshua, Harlan, Benjamin, Skylar, Alec, and Malcolm.
This
is
my second term in the New Mexico House Of Representives. I am
deeply honored to represent the citizens of House District 3 in eastern
San Juan County. I would like to tell you a little about myself
and what I
have done in my life that has prepared me to
represent the citizens of the third district in the
New Mexico House of Representatives.
